  • Workout at the 22-station fitness trail at Bisceglie Park

  • Play on the outdoor tennis courts at Weston Racquet Club

  • Pick a trail any trail – Aspetuck Land Trust maintains 16 preserves spread out across town

  • Visit Lachat Farmer’s Market where you can pick up some local goods, enjoy live music, and eat at the food trucks – open the last Friday of every month Jun-Oct

  • Cherry Lawn Park, one of Darien’s busier parks, offers easy walking trails, 4 tennis courts, a basketball court, baseball and soccer fields

  • Weed Beach, Darien’s largest public beach, offers 6 tennis courts, 5 paddle tennis courts, and several acres of coastal walking trails, including a fit trail with equipment. There’s also a windsurfing area and great routes for kayaking and paddle boarding

  • Baker Park offers several acres of woodland walking trails, open areas for a game of frisbee, and multi-purpose fields for soccer or baseball. Dogs are welcome on a leash

  • Selleck’s Woods is a nature preserve on 28 acres of land with 2 miles of hiking trails

I’m an in-home personal trainer serving clients in Stamford and Lower Fairfield County. Beyond getting in shape, my goal for clients is to get them to love fitness and look forward to their next workout - whether training with me, in the gym, or outside. Though Stamford is a pretty busy city, there are some great parks and beaches to enjoy.

Here are a few of my favorite places to BFit in Stamford:

  • Scalzi Park is the largest recreational area in Stamford with tennis courts, baseball fields, basketball, volleyball, and bocce ball courts. I like to use the outdoor fitness station on the far side of the park, which has push up and pull up bars and plyometric equipment

  • Cove Island Park has a nice 1-mile walk/run loop with views of the Long Island Sound. There’s a big lawn area for fun activities and a sandy beach front

  • Mianus River Park covers almost 400 acres of forest between Greenwich and Stamford. The wide paths are great for mountain biking or hiking with your dog (leashes are required)

  • Kosciuszko Park is a nice waterfront park with a .75 mi walking path around the perimeter that’s great for bikers, dogs and joggers

There are four beaches in town – Greenwich Point (aka Tod’s Point), Byram Beach, Island Beach, and Great Captain Island. The last two are accessible by ferry during the summer.

Here are some of my favorite places to BFit in Greenwich:

  • Mianus River Park stretches across Greenwich and Stamford with almost 400 acres of forest. The wide paths are perfect for mountain biking and hiking with your dog (leash required)

  • Bruce Park is a nice quiet park located in downtown Greenwich. The park offers all sorts of activities – walking and jogging trails, biking, 3 tennis courts, a baseball field and bowling green

  • Greenwich Point Park offers a scenic 2.25 mile paved loop along the shore for walking, jogging or biking; swimming areas with lifeguards; and areas for sailing, windsurfing and kite surfing

  • Byram Park has a small beachfront, 3 lighted tennis courts, a small boat launch, and a public pool
